FLORIDIANS FOR A FAIR SHAKE STATEMENT ON MARCH UNEMPLOYMENT REPORT

WEST PALM BEACH — Floridians For a Fair Shake, the grassroots organization formed to educate constituents about Rep. Brian Mast’s votes on health care and taxes, issued the following statement on the March unemployment report from communications director Stephen Gaskill:

“Today’s disappointing jobs report shows the impact the #TrumpTax is starting to have on our economy. With slower than anticipated job growth and weaker wage growth than economists expected given the low unemployment rate, the markets are already reacting this morning. Those still cheerleading for the administration’s economic strategy — we’re looking at you, Rep. Brian Mast — have some explaining to do to Floridians.”

Floridians For a Fair Shake is a multi-pronged campaign working in Florida’s 18th Congressional District to educate and inform constituents about Rep. Brian Mast’s votes on health care and taxes. Florida ranks 48th in health care coverage, and yet Mast’s votes would have cost nearly 75,000 of his own constituents their health coverage. In addition, Mast supported the administration’s deficit-exploding tax bill that benefits the wealthiest one percent, not the constituents in CD-18.
