ICYMI: PRESIDENT TRUMP DENIES PAY RAISE TO 138,000 FLORIDA FEDERAL WORKERS, WANTS ANOTHER TAX CUT FOR MILLIONAIRES LIKE VERN BUCHANAN

SARASOTA — President Trump has announced plans to cancel the 2.1% pay raise for federal workers in 2019, claiming a need for fiscal responsibility, despite pushing though $1.5 trillion in tax breaks for the wealthy that are expected to balloon the federal deficit. Floridians for a Fair Shake Communications Director Stephen Gaskill issued the following statement:

“President Trump and his Congressional Republican enablers like Vern Buchanan can’t do enough to help millionaires, billionaires and wealthy corporations at the expense of working families. Vern Buchanan got a multimillion dollar yacht from the Trump tax cut, but Florida’s 138,000 federal workers got only scraps – and now their modest raise for next year is gone. Trump and Buchanan are taking away health care and worker pay raises to support their wealthy cronies. Apparently no level is too low to stoop.”

Here’s a roundup of coverage of Trump’s decision:
