PRESIDENT TRUMP’S OP-ED ON HEALTH CARE IS WRONG ON FACTS

SARASOTA — President Donald Trump penned an op-ed in today’s USA Today that attempts to paint a rosy picture of his administration’s actions on health care. His conclusions are regrettably off base.

Floridians for a Fair Shake communications director Stephen Gaskill sets the record straight:

“The President says health care premiums are coming down, which will be a surprise to Floridians, who are experiencing increases higher than the national average. He also says he is protecting access to care for those with pre-existing conditions, which is the exact opposite of what he and Congressional Republicans like Vern Buchanan have done — the threat of the return of exclusions for pre-existing conditions is real. It’s worth noting in this tapestry of lies that Vern Buchanan votes with President Trump 96.6 percent of the time. If Vern ever appears in the district — it’s been 571 days since his last Town Hall — his constituents should ask him he agrees with the President’s off-kilter views.”
