TODAY: YOUNG PEOPLE PUT HEALTH CARE IN FOCUS TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION

New College of Sarasota Students Discuss Being Health Care Voters with Floridians for a Fair Shake in Voter Mobilization Action

SARASOTA
— Health care is a major focus this election cycle, with the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans continuing to sabotage the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Today in Texas, opening arguments begin in a case brought by 20 Attorneys General — Florida’s Pam Bondi included — challenging the ACA, and a loss could mean the end of protections for pre-existing conditions currently covering 7.8 million Floridians. Against that backdrop, Floridians for a Fair Shake in partnership with Health Care Voter is mobilizing voters by collecting health care stories of young people two months before the election to hold Republicans accountable for their attacks on the ACA.
