TRUMP ADMINISTRATION BRINGS BACK PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS

WHERE ARE CONGRESSMEN BRIAN MAST AND VERN BUCHANAN?

The Trump administration is refusing to defend the Affordable Care Act in court, which means that insurance companies could once again deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions. Congressmen Brian Mast and Vern Buchanan each voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, even though their constituents stand to lose coverage for their own pre-existing conditions — 272,400 for Mast and 274,300 for Buchanan, according to the Center for American Progress. Floridians for a Fair Shake communications director Stephen Gaskill issued the following statement:

“The Trump administration is intent on ripping health care away from Floridians, including the 7.8 million Floridians with pre-existing conditions. Congressmen Brian Mast and Vern Buchanan each voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act and are accomplices in the sabotage of our health care system. Premiums are already expected to rise next year by 16.9 percent, adding a burden of $1,011 to Florida families. Don’t Mast and Buchanan have any shame or compassion, or are they beholden to their pharmaceutical and insurance industry campaign funders? Who are they really working for?”
